The star wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchises are two of the biggest franchises Hollywood has ever seen, garnering legions of fans thanks to the shows each outfit releases. Another part of the equation is the thick veil of secrecy involving the productions, leading fans to speculate in the months leading up to each project. In the case of Andor star Adria Arjona, it was especially hard not to tell those close to her that she had been cast in one of the biggest film franchises in the world.

“Well, I really had trouble with that because I was like, I’m gonna tell my mom, obviously and I’m gonna call my mom and tell her everything,” Arjona told ComicBook.com. “But then I was like, so the whole island of Puerto Rico is going to know. So I was like, I don’t want this.”

The only person who knew about her new job was her partner, who helped her read lines when needed.

“I think I really shared it with my partner, because he was with me while I was filming. So I was kind of coming home and he was helping me read lines and stuff,” adds Arjona. “He hasn’t read any of the scripts, doesn’t really know everything, but he kinda knows what I’m going through. So I think I’m still keeping it… I think protecting a fan’s experience or protecting the experience anyone watching a show like this is so crucial and so important, but I also didn’t want to tell anyone I’m trying to forget myself.

In the series, Arjona plays a new character named Bix Caleen, presumably a member of the Rebel Alliance.

“I think I would describe her as incredibly bold and fearless. She’s really, I don’t know what you would call it, maybe like a mechanic. She’s the manager of a salting yard and Farix is kind of a very industrial and a very competitive world. And I think you can kind of feel that in Bix,” the actor said. “And I think the relationship that she has with Cassian is really interesting to me and I think the fans are going to really love her and really love Bix because of what she’s been going through throughout this show. I I almost said something, but I didn’t. ‘t.”
