WILMINGTON, NC, May 26, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — We all know Sanditon is a hit television series featuring a fictional resort town. Nevertheless, a question that comes up very frequently on Google is “Where is Sanditon on the map?” Best-selling author and researcher Donna Fletcher Crow revealed the answer in a recent blog post titled “Finding Sanditon on the Map”. Luckily yes, it provides a map of the real world. Very few people in the world have more expertise in all things Jane Austen than Donna Fletcher Crow. This experience, along with her expertise as a researcher who has explored these places in person, helped her identify Sanditon’s most likely location.

On June 21, 2022, Crow will speak to the Southern Idaho Chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America on “How Jane Austen Influenced My Writing.” She says: “In a career of about 40 years writing about 50 books, Jane Austen was my star. Some of my novels are set in Regency England, reflecting my passion for my favorite author, others, even those set in America’s pioneering west, are underpinned by my love for the excellent style and the great literature of which Austen is the supreme example.

On June 25, 2022, Crow will speak (via Zoom) to the Jane Austen Society of New Zealand on the topic “Frank Churchill in the Dock: Did Frank Murder His Foster Mother?” Crow explained, “Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ has long been recognized as a great groundbreaking mystery novel for its clever misdirection of the reader in resolving the questions it poses. But as a detective novelist myself, I’m going to go deeper and investigate whether Frank Churchill was merely the “fortune child” he claimed to be, or whether he played an insidious role in the making this fortune.

“We will begin with an overview of the courts and legal process in Regency England, then I will don a wig and robes and assemble a jury of my viewers as a prosecutor to show that the accused indeed had the means, motive and the opportunity to commit the most disgusting murder.

From September 29 to October 30, 2022, will reunite with Crow at the AGM of the Jane Austen Society of North America in Victoria, British Columbia, where she will present a talk titled “In London with Jane Austen and the Dashwoods.” She says: “In Jane Austen’s Persona, I will take participants to all the locations of Austen’s ‘Most London Novel’, in a fully illustrated presentation of period maps and images.

Crow has 2 YouTube videos that give a similar flavor of Jane Austen taking viewers to their favorite places: “Jane Austen: From Heaven to Portsmouth” and “Jane Austen from Heaven to Lyme Regis”.
