For anyone beginning their comic book movie journey, Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” was considered the pinnacle of superhero movies. With a 94% positive review on Rotten Tomatoes, critics agree this movie is worth watching.
“The Dark Knight” is an excellent film based on villains. Nolan encapsulates the audience in the crime-filled city of Gotham by telling all sides of the story. The story centers on Lt. Jim Gordon of the Gotham Police Department, the Joker trying to make a name for himself as a new villain, and Bruce Wayne trying to protect the city he loves as a vigilante known as of Batman.
This thriller is filled with action, adventure and explosions. Viewers can set their expectations high, as Christian Bale’s portrayal of Wayne is considered the greatest Batman of all time, according to Gamespot.com. The film was also a financial success, grossing over $1 billion at the box office. THIS
“The Suicide Squad”

From director James Gunn, 2021’s “The Suicide Squad” is superior to the anti-hero team of the 2016 adaptation. The two brought some of DC Comics’ craziest villains to life as one. “The Suicide Squad” takes its name from the explosives implanted in the bases of the teams’ skulls to keep them in line.
With an all-star cast including Margot Robbie, John Cena, and Idris Elba, this film is ideal for anyone who wants truly laughable scenes mixed with incredibly graphic action shots of these villains and those who encounter them.
The team is sent by the government to an island full of enemies. They are on a search and destroy mission. If the mission is completed successfully, the bad guys in the squad will get their jail time reduced.
While it’s a fun movie to watch, Gunn also introduces some new villains during this film. The Peacemaker character, played by Cena, now has his own binge-worthy series on HBO Max. RS

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”

There have been several iterations of everyone’s favorite superhero, from TV to the big screen and from animation to live-action. However, one of the best to date is the computer-animated feature “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” This animated version is reminiscent of the printed comic strips that inspired the franchise.
Directed by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman, this film has become a fan favorite.
Full of laughs and intense action scenes, the plot of the film focuses on Miles Morales, a young protagonist and new Spider-Man with superpowers in this film. With its beautiful animation style and excellent acting performances, it was easy for viewers to find themselves enthralled by the story of Miles Morales, as well as how his version of Spider-Man intersects with others in Spider Verse. Todd Phillips’ “Joker” is perhaps one of the best standalone villain origin stories to date. Joaquin Phoenix portrays Arthur Fleck, an absolute person living in Gotham City with his elderly mother. Fleck works like a clown to pay the bills. Audiences slowly learn that Fleck is mentally deranged as the film progresses.
As the film progresses, Fleck experiences a series of setbacks. One failure after another slowly brings him closer and closer to becoming the criminal mastermind known as the Joker. The depiction of Phoenix shows how the spirit can take over in perverse ways. His commitment to the role helped Phoenix land the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.
This movie is arguably the darkest and most disturbing Gotham City we’ve ever seen on the big screen. It brings another Joker story to life. THIS

For viewers who prefer to watch darker, more serious comic book-inspired movies, “Logan” is filled with incredible action, colorful characters, and suffering superheroes.
Logan, based on the superhero Wolverine from the X-Men comics, has a lot more of an adult tone than typical superhero movies. Stamped R-rating, this bloody and violent film is aimed at an informed public.
This film focuses on an older Logan (Hugh Jackman) caring for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Logan’s plan to stay away from the public is cut short when he encounters a young mutant with similar powers.
Director James Mangold, cinematographer John Mathieson, and the camera crew did a masterful job of bringing the comic book character to life. Filled with action, blood and gore, slick acting performances, and even a few scenes that are likely to bring many viewers to tears, “Logan” will change many’s perspective on how superhero movies can be. made and how awesome they can be.
