Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan will inaugurate the 32nd edition of the Vijayawada Book Festival virtually here on Saturday evening.
The city’s annual event, hosted by the Vijayawada Book Festival Society at PWD Grounds (Swaraj Maidan), will bring together over 176 publishers and vendors through January 11.
At a press conference on Friday, Company President T. Manohar Naidu, Secretary K. Lakshmaiah, Honorary President B. Babjee, XRay Kolluri and others said various new books will be launched on the daily. literary platform. Competitions would be held in the form of quizzes and other events while career discussions would be held at the podium for children and young people.
Cultural activities would also be organized on the premises.
Literary meetings would be conducted from Kalipatnam Rama Rao Sahitya Vedika. Memorial meetings would be organized for Navodaya Ramamohan Rao, Kalipatnam Rama Rao, Ravikrindi Ramaswamy, I. Rama Kumar, VLN Reddy and Appa Rao. The centenarians of the birth of Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Atreya, Vaddadi Papaiah and Rachakonda Viswanatha Sastry would be organized.
Walk for Books, a book lovers’ walkathon, would be held on Jan. 4 from the Gandhi Nagar Press Club in Swaraj Maidan, they added.
