It’s a running joke that Warner Bros. will put Batman in practically anything, be it Fortnite, shows for toddlersWhere podcasts. Crossing and entering other mediums or the affairs of other people who are part of the Dark Knight anything, and one of the band’s most popular crossovers was a pair of 1994 one-shots— Spawn/Batman by Frank Miller and Spawn creator Todd MacFarlane, and Batman/Spawn: War Devils by Alan Grant, Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon and Klaus Janson. And since crossovers are all the rage these days, the two are coming back together to start all over again.

Batman/Spawn was announced summer, but with the release of the book in December drawing closer, DC release an animated trailer to create buzz the one shot. Written by MacFarlane and drawn by Recurring Batman artist Greg Capullo, the story begins when the court of owls call on Spawn to do what he can’t and finally kill batman. Although it does not appear to be in the same continuity as these previous crossovers, it probably won’t work in Owls promote despite everything.

Spawn himself is no stranger to crossovers, the most recent being his appearance in NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 11, after MacFarlane and NetherRealm previously attempted to bring him into previous games. The character Image also briefly appeared in Player One loan film adaptation in 2018, and who can forget when Spawn was a guest character in SoulCalibur II all the way back to 2002? Maybe he will show up in Fortnite once his movie actually looks like it’s coming out.
