D&D Beyond will offer two Dungeons & Dragons books this week. The digital toolbox will offer copies of Incorporated Acquisitions to all registered users to celebrate the acquisition of D&D Beyond by Wizards of the Coast. The competition will run from May 19 to May 26. Anyone requesting a copy of Acquisitions Inc. during this time will have the book added to their digital library. Additionally, D&D Beyond will also Phandelver Lost Mine, the adventure contained in the D&D Starter Kit, will be available for free to all registered players from May 19. Phandelver Lost Mine will be available for free to all players in the future.

Incorporated Acquisitions was the first “crossover” book published by Wizards of the Coast in conjunction with a popular D&D streaming show, in this case Penny Arcade’s Acquisitions Inc.. The rulebook set out rules for running an Acquisitions Inc. franchise, which included unique roles for each player and ways to make a franchise a true regional powerhouse. Although the book was written in Penny Arcade’s signature tongue-in-cheek style, players could use the rules found in Incorporated Acquisitions to run a guild house or any other type of branch of an organized structure within their own game.

Meanwhile, Phandelver Lost Mine is one of the best-known D&D adventures, in part because it appeared in the starter kit used to kick-start players and acclimate them to the game. The adventure is a perfect introduction to Dungeons & Dragons and can be used as a base for a longer campaign.

In other news, D&D Beyond has also announced that it will be removing two existing D&D rulebooks next week. Both Volo’s Guide to Monsters and Tome of Mordenkainen’s Enemies will be removed from the site market after the release of Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, which reprints the character races and monster stat blocks found in these two books with revisions. D&D Beyond users who have previously purchased the books on the platform will still have access to the materials on the site. However, the content of the book (which includes several chapters of lore) will no longer be accessible to new users who had not previously purchased the material.
