Disney+ Updates MCU Timeline to Include Spider-Man: Homecoming

Finally, Spider-Man: Homecoming has been added to Disney+ in select markets around the world. With this addition, the streamer was forced to update its chronological order, revealing the exact place in the timeline where the movie takes place. As you’d expect, Disney+ UK now lists Homecoming between Black Panther and strange doctor in the perspective of Avengers: Infinity War.

In addition to Homecoming, the Sam Raimi Spider Man trilogy and the two by Andrew Garfield amazing spider man movies have been added to the streamer but due to rights issues they are on separate providers as far as the US is concerned. Since neither property is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were both left out of the new timeline.

Tobey Maguire (Spider Man) and Garfield both recently appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office. Sony announced in early June that the pic would hit theaters for a re-release in September, which would undoubtedly see it cross the $2 billion mark.

“Tobey wanted to be very minimal about what you know. Very, very minimal,” co-writer Chris McKenna said of Maguire’s role in the record film during a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Andrew absolutely loved the idea that he was still being tortured because of what happened in amazing spider man 2 and where that left him, and how they could bring that to Tom. “We can sympathize with you. We know what you’re going through. If anyone in the world knows what you’re going through, it’s us.” But also, “We can be beacons.”

The writer added: “Tobey in particular has been through this darkness. We thought it was cool that Andrew’s Peter was still in the middle of this darkness. will help you eliminate the bad guys. “They live their own things. We were trying to write to the characters that they did such a great job of creating and to be really true to those characters and those stories and those worlds so that we didn’t have the feel like doing an encore, a fan-service.”

In the USA, Spider-Man: Homecoming is streaming on Starz while Far from home is on Hulu and No coming home is available for purchase wherever films are sold.
