Baby Yoda is ready to win hearts again. The adorable and memorable Grogu is ready to be rescued once again from the last memory of the Galactic Empire and eat more eggs from Frog Lady. StarWars.com has just revealed that a new comic book series based on the popular characters from the Lucasfilm and Disney+ series The Mandalorian arrives in June from Marvel Comics. marvel’s The Mandalorian will be an eight-issue, episode-by-episode adaptation of the Disney+ series’ first season.
According to StarWars.com, the series will be written by Rodney Barnes and illustrated by Georges Jeanty, with multiple cover variations available for each installment. For fans of The Mandalorian and star wars comic book adaptations, it’s a chance to experience the events and characters of Season 1 in a whole new way (and hopefully for LGBTQ+ and Jewish Star Wars fans, the comic will come with a replacement Cara Dune).
The illustrator of the next The Mandalorian from Marvel Comics said:
I’ve always thought that an artist’s style is very much like writing in shorthand. It’s very subjective. What I bring to star wars is my detail and my love for a galaxy far, far away. star wars, especially when it comes to bounty hunters, is a messy landscape. I love drawing all the little details. My look has always been about the details, and with The Mandalorian there’s so much going on with the character and behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to visually add to the already rich tapestry that makes up this universe!
“The Mandalorian story ticks so many boxes of things I’m passionate about,” Barnes added. “I love westerns, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, drama…this is a dream gig for any writer. I’m just happy to have been chosen for this mission!
