More than 15 years after Hayden Christensen first appeared as Darth Vader, the actor has returned to reprise the role on Disney+. Obi Wan Kenobi series. Although there are some rumors that the character could return in other Star Wars projects currently in development, the actor has now said that he would definitely be interested in seeing the villain get his own series.

“Absolutely,” the actor told THR when asked if he’d like to see a Vader series come to fruition. “To do more with this character would be amazing!”

Regarding Vader’s status at the current point in the Star Wars timeline, Christensen added that the villain is trying to totally remove any piece of Anakin that’s left in his life.

“Yeah, I still see Anakin as a guideline and undercurrent to this character,” the actor continued. “Vador does his best to kill that side of him, but there’s always got to be a bit of Anakin in there. And that shows up, and that’s part of the fun. I always think about the Anakin aspect of it. this character.”

In a previous interview, Christensen admitted he thought he was long done with the role, so there was an element of surprise when he was approached by Lucasfilm about returning to the franchise.

“It was definitely a surprise. You know, for a very long time, no, I didn’t think I would be back in that role,” the Darth Vader actor said. Hi guys. “But certainly, in the back of my head for a little while, maybe I had hope that one day such an opportunity would arise.”

“This whole project has been a surprisingly emotional experience,” Christensen continued. “He’s a character that means so much to me, and to others as well. He’s a character that has resonated in our popular culture in a very unique way, so continuing my journey with Darth Vader has been so cool.”
