The bundle will include 45 digital issues of Heavy Metal Magazine to celebrate the iconic publisher’s 45th anniversary this year. Legendary issues in the lot include the very first issue from April 1977, the July 1977 issue with a cover and story by Mœbius, the very first holiday issue with a cover by Jean Solé, issue 276 with the artwork Lord of Light by Jack Kirby. , and the number 300 which celebrates a new era of Heavy Metal.

Los Angeles, CA – Heavy Metal, the premier storyteller of cutting-edge sci-fi, fantasy and horror content, is thrilled to announce another partnership with Humble Bundle to launch The bleeding heart of heavy metal, worth $675, which supports the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. The pack is available for purchase now as a pay-as-you-go model and runs for the next 21 days.

The bleeding heart The bundle, available now from October 20 at 11 a.m. PST through November 10 at 11 a.m. PST, includes 45 of heavy metalclassic and landmark issues, including the very first April 1977 issue, the very first holiday issue with a cover of Jean Solé, and a number of legendary highlights from the magazine’s 45 years of circulation. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the bundle supports the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the legal rights of the comic arts community. With a membership that includes creators, publishers, retailers, educators, librarians, and fans, the CBLDF has defended dozens of First Amendment cases in court across the United States and spearheaded important initiatives educational activities promoting comic strip culture and freedom of expression.

All charity funds raised through Heavy Metal’s previous bundle went toward legal fees associated with CBLDF’s successful defense against Gender Queer in the Virginia Beach obscenity case, in which the petitioner attacked not only this particular book, but all comic books with mature content. heavy metal was part of the affair that gave rise to the founding of the CLBDF, so it’s wonderfully monumental that Heavy Metal, Humble Bundle and the fandom will unite once again to protect the next generation of comic book arts.
