Lucasfilm puts a lot of emphasis on the High Republic era, and before The AcolyteDisney+ Release, Marvel Comics Set to Release Two More Series Set in Previous Years The Phantom Menace…
At this week’s Star Wars Celebration, fans in attendance got an exciting first glimpse of what’s to come in “Phase II” of Star Wars: The High Republic. The well-received publishing initiative is about to begin a whole new era of interconnected stories told across a wide range of novels, children’s books, and comics, and we’ve got our first look at these.
Starting this fall, Marvel Comics is set to release a new Star Wars: The High Republic comedy series and a limited series titled Star Wars: The High Republic – The Blade.
Launch in October, Star Wars: The High Republic #1 will see writer Cavan Scott and artist Ario Anindito reunite after their success on volume one. Set 150 years before Phase 1, Phase II of the High Republic era will focus on Jedha, a planet rich in its connection to the Force and at the center of all major religions in the galaxy. We are sure you will remember this planet from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The flagship series will also introduce Jedi Vildar Mac, who arrives as Jedha’s fragile peace begins to crumble and an unnamed terror arrives.
The writer Charles Soule, meanwhile, will join forces with the artist Marco Castiello to Star Wars: The High Republic – The Blade #1. The four-issue limited series will explore the mysterious story of Porter Engle, the Jedi-turned-cook also known as Blade of Bardotta.
