Marvel’s Echo Star Reveals Filming Has Completed

One of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ exclusive series has wrapped filming. Friday, Echo Star Alaqua Cox took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that production on the project, which is set to debut on the streaming service in 2023, has been completed. The live-action series will see Cox reprising her role as Maya Lopez/Echo, a deaf, Native American superhero who made her screen debut last year. Hawk Eye series. Join Cox in Echo are Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, and Devery Jacobs as Julie. Graham Greene, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal and Cody Lightning have also been cast on the show in currently unknown roles.

The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace a sense of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre and Jason Gavin (Blackfoot) are executive producers. Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King (Seminole), and Jennifer Booth are co-executive producers.

“It’s so crazy that I have my own show after Hawk Eye. It was like my first acting role, ever,” Cox said of his MCU role. I don’t know why they give me this opportunity, but I’m just grateful. I am delighted with the support and to be able to advocate for the deaf community. We want to have that equality and get more people involved. I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given.”

She continued, “It’s crazy how much my life has changed already because I dropped out of college. I worked in a factory. I’m so excited to show people who I am and what I do. can do, what anyone can do.”
