Off Broadway Between the lines to organize a collection of children’s books

The Off-Broadway Musical Between the lines announced that it will be hosting a children’s book drive from August 2-7. Children’s and young adult books can be donated in new or lightly used condition to the Tony Kiser Theater for the duration of the ride. The event is organized in partnership with Hindi’s Libraries, a non-profit literary association based on Long Island.

“As a huge theater lover, I am so grateful for this opportunity to share two of my passions: the performing arts and literacy,” Hindi’s Library co-founder Leslie Gang said in a statement. communicated. “I am grateful to Daryl Roth and his entire team for supporting our cause and helping us deliver literacy.”

Between the lines opened July 11 at Off-Broadway’s Tony Kiser Theater. The new musical follows high schooler Delilah, an outsider in a new school, who seeks solace in her favorite book where she feels heard and understood. But, the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur, and she must wonder if she has the power to rewrite her own history.

The production stars Arielle Jacobs as Delilah, Jake David Smith as Prince Oliver, Vicki Lewis as Mrs. Winx/Jessamyn Jacobs/Mrs. Brown/Kyrie, Hillary Fisher as Allie/Princess Seraphima, Will Burton as Frump/Ryan, Jerusha Cavazos as Janice/Marina, John Rapson as Dr. Ducharme/Rapskulio, Wren Rivera as Jules/Ondine, Sean Stack as Martin/Troll/Papa / Delivery Boy, and Julia Murney as Grace/Queen Maureen. Heather Ayers, Dan Hoy, Martin Landry and Aubrey Matalon serve as stunt doubles.

The work, based on the novel by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, features a book by Timothy Allen McDonald (James and the giant peach), and a score by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson (central park). Jeff Calhoun (News) conducts, with orchestrations and arrangements by Gregory Rassen (Bandstand).
