One Piece sees Luffy make his biggest promise yet

A piece kicked off one of Luffy’s biggest promises in the series yet with the newest chapter in the series! Ever since he first met Momonosuke during the Zou arc, things have been building for Luffy as he gets closer to the Wano Country arc. During his run on the show since, Luffy has developed a much closer and deeper connection with the people of the area after seeing those like Tama and Hyogoro suffer at the hands of Kaido and Orochi. It’s since he vowed to make Wano a country where people like Tama can eat as much as they want without worry.

But through the fight with Kaido, things changed even more. With Luffy losing to the Emperor three times before fully awakening his Devil Fruit power, the final climax of their fight finally came as Luffy put everything he had into one final blow. fist with the intention of defeating Kaido once and for all. . It is here that he reveals his newly expanded promise to now only free Wano, but to create a new kind of world where his friends can eat as much food as they want without a struggle.

Chapter 1049 of A piece picks up after the previous chapter teased Luffy and Kaido were launching their final attacks on each other. As Onigashima was about to strike the Flower Capital below, Luffy continued to push Kaido but the two fighters had a final clash of ideals. Kaido asks Luffy what he would do if he could change the world, and Luffy then swears to create a world “where [his] friends could eat whatever they want. This shakes Kaido’s resolve enough that his defense loses a bit and Luffy is able to make a direct connection to his face.

As fans have seen in A piece so far, food has been one of the franchise’s most important elements. It’s not only Luffy’s favorite thing in the world, but it’s also something that has built bridges between the characters at important times such as Sanji and Luffy’s reunion during the Whole Cake Island arc, the massive parties after each win, and more. Food has been a main topic of discussion across Wano, and it has only made Luffy even angrier as he continues to rise to the top of the seas.

If Luffy truly defeated Kaido, he is now on the verge of fulfilling this major promise. What do you think? What do you think of Luffy’s real dream for the world and the future?
