Kate Humphreys of Oly Oly Oxen Free Books will give a virtual lecture on the history of children’s book illustrations at South Shore Arts.
This is the latest installment in South Shore Arts’ Art in Focus lecture series, which went virtual during the coronavirus pandemic.
Humphreys will be giving a talk and speaking with South Shore Arts Director of Education Natalie Heath on “the relatively short but abundant history of children’s book illustrations” at 10 am on Monday January 10th. bookstore specializing in “beautiful, strange and classic”, will talk about his favorite children’s books.
“Participants will learn about the rich and diverse history of children’s literature and will be encouraged to reflect on how children’s intercultural stories are passed from generation to generation,” South Shore Arts said in a press release. . “Examples of current and former children’s books will be on display virtually and attendees will be invited to talk about which books were important to them as children and why.”
This is part of an ongoing virtual lecture series by South Shore Arts that showcases arts and culture in the region.
