Epic romance series Foreigner has a new season coming out this month and fans couldn’t be more excited to watch what’s next for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), along with the rest of the main characters. The lead couple have warmed hearts for years since the series premiered in 2014, becoming an instant hit with historical fiction audiences. Based on the novels of Diana Gabaldon, Foreigner centers on British World War II nurse Claire Beauchamp, who is accidentally transported to Scotland in 1743 amid the Jacobite Revolution. As she tries to fit in to this time period, she falls in love with the warrior Jamie Fraser (despite being married to Frank Randall before time travel) and uses her knowledge of history to help him lead the Jacobites to victory despite the tragic outcome that awaits them.

Where is Outlander available to stream?

The show is available in the United States via Netflix and Starz. If you have a Hulu subscription, you can add Starz to the monthly plan by paying an additional $5.99. You can also watch Foreigner on Amazon Prime if you’re in the UK or add Starz to your subscription for $8.99.

Due to exclusivity rights, only the first four seasons are available to stream on Netflix in the United States. However, that doesn’t mean that seasons 1-5 aren’t available in other parts of the globe. France, Italy and Canada are among the countries that already have season 5 on their catalog via Netflix. Since Starz is the streaming service with the rights to the show, you can watch Season 5 in the US through this platform.


How many episodes are there in each season of Outlander?

If you haven’t watched Foreigner at the moment, or if you haven’t finished watching the series, each season usually has 13 episodes except season 1 and season 5. season 1 has 16 episodes in total and season 5 has 12 episodes in total. The general length of the episodes is around 57 minutes to 1 hour.

When is Outlander Season 6 premiering?

As previously mentioned, Foreigner Season 6 is coming out soon. The first episode of the new season will hit the Starz platform in the US at 9:00 p.m. on March 6, 2022. For UK audiences, the show will likely land on Prime Video around 2 a.m. the following day. From then on, episodes will air on Sunday or Monday on a weekly basis.

Since there are countries in which Foreigner is considered a Netflix Original, Season 6 episodes will air on a weekly basis 24 hours after release in the United States.

When is the Outlander season 6 finale coming out?

Unlike previous seasons, Foreignerthe last one will have 8 episodes in total. The plot will be mainly based on Diana Gabaldon’s sixth novel in the series of books titled “A breath of snow and ashes”. Due to Covid complications on set, the show had to shorten the episode count for Season 6. The final episode is set to release on April 25.

Will there be more seasons of Outlander?

If you’re worried that after Season 6 ends, there won’t be any more episodes to come, fear not! Although there were fewer episodes this time around, Foreigner has been officially renewed for Season 7. The next season will focus on the seventh novel in the book series titled “An Echo in the Bone.” It will consist of 12 episodes with the return of the main cast.

Here’s what the former president of Starz original programming Christine Davis told The Hollywood Reporter about how the period drama fits with the #TakeTheLead incentive, an initiative to further promote diverse voices and empower women to take the lead on and off camera.

“The hit series Foreigner embodies everything about our initiative, including a powerful female lead character and an incredible storytelling team. We look forward to following Claire and Jamie’s adventures in America during the Revolution as well as more time travels in this upcoming season.

Is there an Outlander spin-off?

Not only has the show been renewed for Season 7 before filming for Season 6 even wrapped, there’s an additional source of excitement for die-hard fans. According to Variety, Starz has started developing a Foreigner prequel series. Although more plot details have not been revealed, the showrunner Matthew B. Roberts will lead the new project as a writer and as a producer. The creator of the show, Ronald D. Moorewill serve as executive producer of the prequel alongside Maril Davis. Sony Pictures Television will be the supporting studio for the project, just like the original series.

Despite the absence of confirmation on the general scenario of the Foreigner prequel, it’s possible that just as the books inspired the series, Diana Gabaldon’s prequel books could be the inspiration behind the spinoff. In 2013, the author published virgins as a member of Dangerous woman anthology series, centering on young Jamie Fraser and Ian Murray in the 1740s. Gabaldon also revealed that she plans to write a prequel focusing on Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. Here is the quote the author shared on his Facebook account:
